Why we Exist
With the global imperative to address climate change, there has been a surge in the number of organizations stepping up to meet the challenge. With a parallel increase in climate funding, there has been an exponential growth in the demand for skilled climate talent that can fuel organizations forward in their mission and efforts in the global fight to combat climate change. Talent is rapidly becoming a major constraint to scaling climate action.
On the other hand, all around the world, untold numbers of skilled professionals across sectors and career levels are hearing the call that addressing climate change is one of the foremost needs of this century and they are ready and willing to roll up their sleeves and commit their careers to this mission.
SCT is determined to overcome this supply-demand mismatch, by developing, supporting and de-risking pathways for skilled talent to enter the global climate change workforce. By focusing on addressing critical talent and leadership gaps within the climate sector, SCT endeavors to identify, incubate, and scale impactful climate talent solutions in order to:
Build a strong pipeline of diverse talent to staff and start climate organizations
Support organizations in fulfilling their ambitions for scale by addressing talent barriers
Increase the role and leadership of those most impacted by the climate crisis to accelerate the clean energy transition
