Our mission is to deploy talent into critical areas of climate action to ensure that human capacity is never the bottleneck for our planetary goals.
We are building a global "Talent Engine." Just as a city is powered by an electrical grid, the climate movement is powered by a human grid - a stable, high-leverage pipeline of leaders and workers - that allows it to turn ideas into tangible impact.
Climate solutions don't succeed on funding, policy, or technology alone. They succeed because people have the knowledge, skills, leadership, and institutional capacity to turn ideas into action.

Surge Climate Talent was incubated by the Growald Climate Fund. What began as a focused effort to address talent shortages within climate organizations quickly demonstrated a broader truth: investing in people is one of the highest-leverage ways to accelerate climate progress.
In 2024, Surge Climate Talent spun out as an independent nonprofit organization. Today, Surge works across civil society, philanthropy, and the clean energy ecosystem to design, manage, and scale collaborative funding initiatives that strengthen climate talent.
As a regranting organization, we partner with funders to move capital strategically into people, organizations, and workforce systems that expand the climate movement's capacity to deliver results.
